Frequently Asked Questions ?
What to expect at my animals physiotherapy appointment ?
The session will be approx 1 hour, and will begin with a thorough assessment: observing your animals posture and gait, as well as a hands on assessment. Then appropriate treatment will be provided, alongside any exercises, and a home plan will be uniquely provided for each animal, and adjusted after each session accordingly.
Can my Veterinary Physiotherapy appointment be covered by my insurance ?
Yes ! If your animal has a veterinary referral form completed due to a previous/ongoing diagnosis/condition that is covered, your appointments can be covered by your insurance, as long as your policy includes cover for 'complimentary therapies'. We recommend ringing your insurance to confirm this, before booking an appointment as some policies can vary.
Do I need to have a veterinary referral for my animal ?
Fit and Healthy animals with no ongoing veterinary concerns, are deemed as 'maintenance' and do not require a referral form for physiotherapy. Any animal currently being treated by a vet, or who has a new lameness/diagnosed condition/poor performance will require a referral form. This ensures a collaborative effort can be made alongside your vet to achieve the best outcome for your animal.
